Job Type: Support Staff - Union Bargaining Unit: SSA Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $55,112.05 - $55,112.05 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary The Sykes Laboratory, led by Dr. Megan Sykes, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technician to support research focused on transplantation and autoimmune diseases. Our lab emphasizes innovation and translational research in advanced immunology. The Technician will assist in experimental procedures, maintain laboratory operations, and collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality research outcomes. Responsibilities Prepare cells from animal and human tissues; perform cell counting Cryopreserve cells Prepare flow cytometry samples, acquire data, analyze and summarize results Perform antibody titration Conduct PCR and other molecular biology assays Execute in vitro immunological assays Perform tissue culture Maintain specific strains of mice Collect blood samples and perform other procedures on mice Assist or perform surgical procedures on mice Maintain laboratory equipment, including -80C freezers and liquid nitrogen tanks Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent in education, training and experience Strong attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
