Position Purpose







The Director of GI Endoscopy provides strategic and operational leadership for the Ambulatory Surgery Center's endoscopy service line, overseeing integrated clinical functions - including RN and Endoscopy Technician teams, and coordination with anesthesia, physicians (Endoscopists), and ASC operations. This leader establishes long-range plans, ensures regulatory readiness, drives performance improvement, and delivers safe, high-quality patient care. Applying broad business, clinical, and operational expertise, the Director resolves multi-disciplinary issues, manages complex projects, and integrates customer service excellence, making decisions with significant long-term impact on clinical, financial, and operational outcomes.











Nature and Scope







80% of time commitment

1. Strategic Leadership & Planning

* Develop and implement long-range plans for the Endoscopy function, aligning with organizational and system-wide goals.

* Identify future growth opportunities, capacity needs, equipment investments, and technology enhancements.

* Influence outcomes across multiple departments and disciplines.

2. Operational Oversight

* Provide leadership over all clinical staff in the Endoscopy Department, including RN's and Endoscopy Technicians.

* Direct professional staff, ensuring high performance and engagement.

* Oversee compliance, accreditation, safety, and quality standards across all areas.

* Monitor quality indicators, adverse events, infection control, sedation safety, and reprocessing standards.

* Manage all aspects of supply and equipment safety and utilization.

3. Financial & Workforce Management

* Direct daily clinical operations, including patient flow and staff scheduling.

* Exercise decision-making authority with significant impact on budgets, resource allocation, and workforce planning.

* Direct financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and efficiency projects.

4. Collaboration & Issue Resolution

* Collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, anesthesiologists, pathology, lab, ED, and other ancillary departments.

* Resolve issues that span multiple departments, disciplines, or processes.

* Foster collaboration with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and operational workflows.

5. Performance Improvement

* Lead continuous improvement efforts, benchmarking performance against peer organizations.

* Accumulate and analyze data, develop findings, and implement recommendations for improvement.

6. Talent Development

* Mentor and develop professional and clinical staff.

* Promote a culture of learning, engagement, and professional growth.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTIONS: 20% of time commitment

1. Participate in hospital and departmental committees as appointed.

2. Other activities as assigned.

3. This position does provide patient care

4. Lead and oversee the service recovery process for patient complaints within the Endoscopy Department.

This position does not provide direct patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Description



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree in a healthcare or business field is preferred.



Experience:



3-5 years of endoscopy experience. Proficient in all aspects of endoscopy procedures.

3-5 years of supervisory experience in a position of increasing responsibility including administrative management experience in nursing or previous experience as a Nursing Supervisor.



License(s):



Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license required at time of hire.



Certification(s):



Current ACLS certification by American Heart Association standards required at time of hire.



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams and Word and have the ability to use the computer for online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
