Position Summary

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Peoria campus of the University of Illinois College of Medicine seeks four full-time Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to provide comprehensive health care in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, including actively participating in the educational and clinical training of residents and medical students.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide patient care in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
  • Teach, train, mentor, and precept residents and medical students in the context of clinical Maternal Fetal Medicine.
  • Consultative model allowing Maternal Fetal Medicine to attend deliveries if preferred but not required.
  • Supported by 6 APPs, ARDMS certified sonographers, 2 diabetes educators, 2 perinatal nutritionists and a genetic counselor.
  • Works collaboratively with Children's Hospital of Illinois and University of Illinois subspecialties, including Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery.
  • Develop/deliver academic presentations.
  • Shared call.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to teach residents and medical students.
  • Interest in academic leadership roles and scholarly activities.

Faculty also have access to Jump Simulation and Education Center, a modern and amazing world-class medical simulation center featuring high fidelity simulations in the settings of hospital patient or operating rooms, airline passenger airplanes, and even grain silos. Healthcare innovation, research and product development are mainstays of this institution.

The care model involves a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary interaction among the Maternal Fetal Medicine Division, the University Laborist Service, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Cardiology, and Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery.

The budgeted salary range for the position is $545,000 to $700,000 per year.
