In the role of Section Team Lead, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist the Area Federal Business Group Manager in coordination and implementation of operational strategies, goals and actions in cooperation with company, regional, and area managers
  • Lead and assist in the implementation of key initiatives, key hires, investments, and company, regional, and area strategies for growth and profitability
  • Monitor performance indicators, and oversee actions for improvement
  • Collaborate with practice leads, program operations managers, and project managers to improve client service, meet company goals, and increase growth and profitability
  • Facilitate and encourage staff communication, training and development, and serve as a mentor for other Cost Center leaders and project managers
  • Implement company policy and procedures, including quality, safety, recruiting and risk management as directed or in partnership with the Area Professional Services Manager and Area Federal Business Group Manager
  • Work with Project Managers on problem projects and issues resolution
  • Lead the workplan balancing of staff assignments to create functional teams to serve our clients, in coordination with program operations managers and practice leads. This would include recommendation and identification of best-fit individuals for project requirements, identification of staffing shortages and surplus, and resolution of conflicting needs between delivery teams.
  • Work directly with the business development group to develop new projects, markets, business classes, project planning, financial information, staffing requirements, marketing materials, and other related matters
  • Assist in the development and implementation of office policies, adherence to corporate policies, and project or contract fee and budget information in conjunction with marketing, practice leads, project managers, and program operations managers
  • Support program operations managers and practice leads in project staffing and workload balancing
  • Supervise operations staff, project assistants, administrative team, accounting support, creative services, and editing staff. Support hiring processes, identification of hiring needs, professional development, morale, and retention for direct reports and others within the span of control, as appropriate.
  • Conduct Project reviews to support project management teams in achieving Area and Business Group objectives while meeting or exceeding client expectations
  • Coordinate MOA responsibilities in support of the Federal Business Group Manager, Area Manager, and regional business group leadership
  • Responsible for monthly Rolling12 reporting, staff projections, backlog and future workload analysis, and ongoing budget analysis with annual and mid-year budget projections
  • Support Area Federal Business Group Manager, Project Managers, and Marketing on Cost Proposal Reviews
  • Assist cost center accountant with accounting and reporting tasks as a backup resource in coordination with Area and Regional accounting directors
  • Monthly UBR/UER reporting, coordination with project managers to respond to project watchlist information requests, corrective action planning, and ongoing budget tracking against key performance indicators
  • Provide Area Federal Business Group Manager with weekly Ops reports
  • Provide support to Operations Managers and Directors within the business group
  • Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 7 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
