YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Fleet Advisor plays a strategic role in optimizing vehicle fleet operations, driving long-term cost efficiency, and aligning fleet management strategies with organizational goals. This role requires advanced analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve fleet performance. With a deep understanding of fleet operations and industry trends, the Fleet Advisor provides guidance on vehicle acquisition, usage, compliance, and lifecycle management. They work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the fleet supports the company's operational effectiveness, safety, and sustainability goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Lead the development and execution of fleet management strategies focused on performance optimization, cost reduction, and operational efficiency.

  • Analyze fleet performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

  • Recommend and implement new technologies or systems to enhance fleet management capabilities (e.g., telematics, GPS tracking, predictive maintenance tools).

  • Provide expert advice on vehicle selection, procurement strategies, and asset disposal.

  • Partner with departments including procurement, finance, safety, and compliance to ensure alignment with company policies and strategic priorities.

  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to inform fleet planning and decision-making.

  • Support the development of annual fleet budgets, forecasts, and cost control initiatives.

  • Evaluate and update fleet-related policies and procedures in alignment with current best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key fleet metrics and insights to leadership.

  • Identify potential risks to fleet operations and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.

  • Performs other related Fleet specific job duties as required.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.);

  • Proficient in using electronic devices (i.e., phone, tablet, computer) for safety audit software and emails.

  • Strong organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • Bachelor's Degree (4 year) or equivalent experience

  • Experience in fleet operations, logistics, or customer service roles

  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and regulatory standards.

  • Proficiency with fleet management software, telematics and data analytics tools

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (FMCSA, DOT, EPA, ARB)

  • Demonstrated ability to build solutions and drive continuous improvement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Employee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position may require travel to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • We fully comply with the ADA and applicable state law, including considering reasonable accommodation measures that may enable qualified disabled applicants and employees to perform essential functions.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
