This is a UC San Diego Internal Recruitment open to UC San Diego Employees Only Under the guidance of the Executive Director and the Deputy Director of Administration, the Strategic Initiative Coordinator will provide analytical and technical support for the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs, working closely with senior management and other stakeholders to analyze policy issues, develop recommendations, and implement decisions. Conducting in-depth analysis of issues, identifying problems, and developing effective solutions will be key responsibilities, involving gathering and analyzing data, conducting reviews, and consulting with experts. As a member of the administrative team, the incumbent will assist the director in various capacities, providing critical support for high-level projects and initiatives, and collaborating with team members to ensure seamless operations and effective communication. Developing and presenting reports, briefings, and other materials will also be essential, as this position communicates recommendations and findings to senior management and other stakeholders, while ensuring that recommendations are well-informed, effective, and aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. The Strategic Initiative Coordinator works within technical, highly collaborative research teams that fosters cross-disciplinary relationships with department leadership, faculty, post-doctoral scholars, graduate students, private industry leaders, consultants, as well as, university and government officials. Assists with editing, revising, and producing professional documents. Organizes conferences, workshops, colloquia and other professional project meetings. Travels to workshops and meetings as needed and writes summaries of sessions attended. Provides work direction to a team of program coordinators. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
