Arena is looking for a passionate and talented User Experience/User Interface Product Design Intern to join our Product Team and change the way manufacturers design and build their products. At Arena, a PTC Business, we help high-tech manufacturers and medical device companies create products that change the world. Our cloud-based product lifecycle management (PLM) and quality management (QMS) software is used by leading product innovators like Nutanix, Bio-Rad, Sonos, Teleflex, and Citrix. As a UX/UI Product Design Intern at Arena, you will learn to work with the product team to craft and improve new and existing web-based digital experiences. The Arena design team is committed to developing the highest quality PLM software with a user-first mindset. We are looking to hire a User Experience/User Interface design intern with strong User Experience Research skills along with the ability to improve and polish our design library. Responsibilities: Collaborate with product managers, customers, and members of the Design and Engineering team to identify user needs and product specifications. Understand the latest trends in technology and design to inform potential solutions Recommend best product requirements based on UX understanding and research. Create design prototypes utilizing the Arena design library and high UI standards Create new design components when needed and assist in the continued development of our design library Participate in design discussions and collaborative sessions with the design team and product team members Present design work to various teams and be able to identify and defend user needs and UX recommendations Be an advocate for our users by carefully weighing user impact, business impact, and level of effort with your own recommendations. Communicate technical details in a simple, understandable manner Help define the process and best practices for initial design and UX research Requirements: Working toward a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field Portfolio or samples of strong UI/UX work demonstrating your understanding and use of user-centric design research Experience designing with Sketch, Figma, or equivalent design tools Impeccable attention to detail with "pixel perfect" perfection. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Strong communication, negotiation, and influence skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, easily adapting to changing project requirements and schedules. The anticipated average hourly rate for this position is $32/hour. This rate reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
