Position Summary:

• The laboratory medical technologist performs routine and specialized tests independently or with minimal supervision in one or various sections in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
• Recognizes the clinical significance of each test performed and reports results within established time frames.
• Actively supports the department's continuous quality improvement and customer service goals through modeling of appropriate behavior and by providing a work environment conducive to attaining these goals.

Work Hours:Evening Shift/2pm-10:30pm/Per Diem- 8 hour shift every 3rd weekend, with potential for additional weekends as needed.

Work Location: All Children's Hopsital/Core Lab- Saint Petersburg, FL

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

* Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related science and/or a Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in all areas of responsibility from the State of Florida.

Experience:

* Ability to participate in one or more project teams

* Ability to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to patients
* Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Possess knowledge of and the ability to use computers, automated instruments, and mechanical apparatus
* Ability to meet deadlines

Salary Range: Minimum 35.83/hour - Maximum 35.83/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
