ABOUT THE JOB:

A direct report to the Director of IT Operations, the IT Senior Systems Administrator position provides technical support and maintenance of infrastructure hardware and software; system monitoring and escalation; problem determination and resolution. This position requires a wide range of desktop and infrastructure knowledge, including but not limited to computer hardware, mobile devices, networking, printers, security, software, storage, and telecommunications.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and decommissioning of infrastructure components such as: Network, Security, Servers (Windows/Unix), Software, Storage, Telecommunications. Development, testing, and lifecycle management of end-user workstations and infrastructure servers, using SCCM to manage OS images, software updates/patching, and hardware asset management.
  • Provide management and support of MS O365 and Active Directory. Provide backup, Group Policy, data recovery, and security management. Assist with mobile device management.
  • May participate in 24/7 on call as needed. Provide exemplary C-Suite and executive direct support; can include off site and after hour support based on their needs. Provide change management facilitation, documentation and communication as well as identification and remediation of underlying infrastructure issues and problems
  • Participation in SOX and license/software/hardware management activities. Provide Tier 3 support for the Service Desk team to identify, diagnose, and resolve user and system issues. Participation in cross-functional activities including the creation and monitoring of operational metrics.
  • Assist in the creation of user training material, and presentation during user training classes when required. Create documentation and implementation of IT policies and procedures. Lead infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Evaluate and recommend new technologies.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or in an equivalent combination of education experience. Relevant industry certifications preferred including ITIL.
Minimum of 7 years of related experience supporting an MS Windows environment.


Required Skills and Abilities:
Experience in a prior IT role, such as Desktop Support or Helpdesk, with:
* Active Directory management.
* The MS O365 suite of tools.
* Scripting and automation with PowerShell.
* SCCM or other software management tool implementation, deployment, and management.
* Backup software and processes.
* Printer management.
* Mobile device management technology such as Intune.
* PRTG and other network monitoring tools.
* Telecommunication tools such as Zoom.
Proven ability to provide high level support and management of technology platforms.
Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at same time with sense or urgency, ability to prioritize and ability to self manage tasks.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent and proactive customer service and organizational skills.


Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in a variety of work environments from professional office environment to branch environment to customer construction sites is required. Must able to use standard office equipment as well as walk, stand, sit, kneel and twist as necessary during business day to resolve technology issues and installation.


Work Environment:
This is an in office role; not hybrid. Occasional travel to sites, meetings and company events up to 20% including overnight travel.
