Staff Accountant (CORP TX)

• 
  
  Complete a monthly review and reconciliation of general ledger account balances to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and established company guidelines
  
  
• 
  
  Perform various accounting functions including, but not limited to, journal entries and reporting
  
  
• 
  
  Account for fixed assets and intangibles including recording purchases, disposals, and booking monthly depreciation and amortization
  
  
• 
  
  Assist with lease accounting entries in accordance with ASC 842
  
  
• 
  
  Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  
  
• 
  
  Support various tax filings (federal excise tax, income tax, property tax) for multiple locations
  
  
• 
  
  Assist with various audits throughout the year including the annual financial statement audit
  
  
• 
  
  Provide support to the Controller, accounting team members, and General Manager's as needed
  
  
• 
  
  Partner and provide necessary support detail to internal and external clients
  
  
• 
  
  Responsible for the adherence to. and communication of. applicable financial controls and policies
  
  
• 
  
  Assume additional responsibilities, to support Modern Aviation's evolving business objectives
  
  

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications -

• Four-year degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 0-2 years in accounting or finance roles
• Valid driver's license, required
• Working towards receiving a CPA, is preferred
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and written procedures
• Adhere to established policies in accordance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
• Consistently practice a high level of ethical behavior in handling confidential information
• Effectively manage time, be organized, and prioritize conflicting projects and tasks
• Exhibit flexibility, willingness to learn new skills, and ability to work collaboratively with other colleagues
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Polished verbal and written communication skills
• Regularly demonstrate accuracy and a keen attention to detail

Working Conditions and Physical Demands -

• Constantly operates a computer and periodically move around the office to access office machinery, e.g., copy machine
• Minimum travel across the network

Modern Aviation's Pay Range -

$25-$30 Per Hour + Bonus + Benefits

The Modern Aviation pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
