POSITION SUMMARY

The Plant Operations Manager (POM) performs a variety of tasks, including support for all hospital management in the functional areas of supplies, transportation, bio-medical equipment, and communications. Will assist the Plant Operations Director in ensuring the maintenance needs of the facility are in compliance with licensing and regulatory bodies.

Duties include, but are not limited to: IT Support, transportation, pricing, purchasing, maintaining purchase order logs, tracking of supplies, filing, supply distribution, and copier/fax machine/computer support. The POM assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Plant Operations in his/her absence. The POM must be an independent self starter that requires little to no supervision and uses good judgment when performing job functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required; Computer literacy required, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Requirements: Preferred experience in operating/testing and inspecting a variety of bio-medical equipment, ensuring proper safety precautions and completion of manufacturer inspections and testing requirements. Should have an understanding of basic regulations pertaining to fire, safety, physical plant, and The Joint Commission requirements, as well as a basic knowledge in the area of building maintenance. Must be able to communicate in a clear concise manner both verbally and in writing.

Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.

DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee, plan, organize and direct the day-to-day activities of the purchasing, communications, bio-medical, and transportation functions of the hospital.

  • Manage Plant Operations Technician by managing and providing them with assignments Knowledge of report preparation and layout features.
  • Knowledge of computers, fax machines, copiers, software, vehicle maintenance, paging systems, and all communication systems.
  • Effective oral and written communications.
  • Ability to accept directions and give directions.
  • Monitors the supply of parts needed to perform job duties and inform supervisor/manager when inventories are low and need to be replaced.
  • Assists in any emergencies that may arise.
  • Support facility wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.
  • Provide first line support for hardware, software, and network issues.

Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.

IT SUPPORT

  • Troubleshooting day-to-day problems with software and hardware and fixing them in a timely manner.
  • Serves as the facility liaison with Corporate IT.
  • Maintains software/hardware inventories.
  • Performs routine maintenance on PC equipment.
  • Provides first level of support for phone systems.
  • Provides first level of support for closed circuit television systems.
  • Provides off-hour support as needed.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Schedule and Track rideshare for patients.
  • Drive patients to doctor appointments, interviews, and other miscellaneous tasks.
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance and inspections.
