Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and procedures to analyze financial information; prepare accurate and timely financial reports and trial balances; ensure appropriate accounting control procedures; and assist in the preparation of our consolidated financial statements.

• Knowledgeable of GAAP and its applications to revenue, fixed asset, treasury, and general accounting functions
• Assist with the preparation of certain external regulatory filings and reporting
• Reviews and verifies the accuracy of account coding
• Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger and sub-ledger accounts
• Provide income and transaction tax support
• Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements which would include income and balance sheets used for internal and external reporting purposes
• Respond to financial inquiries; provide requested information for use in effective management of the business and/or meeting external reporting needs
• Provide and effectively communicate financial information for internal and external audit
• Prepare certain external regulatory filings and reporting
• Validate work product is accurate
• Provide feedback, including sharing best practices, to team members
• Participate on cross-functional teams as required
• Identify business process improvement opportunities; lead in the development and implementation of effective solutions
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA with 2 year preferred or 4 years of experience in Accounting required
• Public auditing / accounting experience preferred
• Strong financial background and knowledge of financial statement preparation
• Strong analytical and organizational skills needed with ability to perform required analysis quickly and accurately under tight deadlines, communicate requirements effectively, and produce detailed and accurate presentations
• Strong experience using Excel and system tools to develop analytical models and reports
• Ability to work independently, well organized, self-motivated in a fast paced environment
• Consumer package goods industry experience a plus
• Technical accounting knowledge with a deep understanding of US GAAP
• Experience in a CPG manufacturing experience a plus
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) a plus
