Capitol Bridge LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-orientedPayroll Analystto join the finance team. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll, analyzing payroll data, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing financial insights and recommendations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of payroll procedures, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.


Location: Onsite in Arlington, VA (or surrounding areas within a commutable distance)


Schedule: On-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. (Hours are subject to change based on Company needs.)


Pay and Benefits:

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Responsibilities:




  • Payroll Processing:






  • Accurately process payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and taxes, in a timely manner.






  • Verify payroll data for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies or issues prior to final processing.






  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations, tax laws, and internal company policies.






  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure employee data is up to date and accurate, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and benefit elections.






  • Maintain the timekeeping system (JAMIS) to ensure accuracy of reported hours and proper charging to government contracts.






  • Process off-cycle payrolls and adjustments as needed, including retroactive pay, corrections, and final paychecks.






  • Conduct ongoing audits of timecards in the JAMIS system to verify accuracy, ensure compliance, and confirm proper classification of labor codes before payroll submission.







  • Payroll Analysis:






  • Conduct regular analysis of payroll data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.






  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve payroll processes, cost efficiency, and accuracy.






  • Reconcile payroll at the end of each pay cycle to ensure proper labor cost allocation and accurate reporting.






  • Compliance and Reporting:






  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.






  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant labor laws, tax regulations, and internal company policies affecting payroll operations.






  • Assist in preparing payroll reports and collaborating with auditors to ensure accurate and accessible documentation during audits.






  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records in accordance with company policies and regulatory retention requirements.






  • Systems and Process Improvement:






  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.






  • Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and validating payroll system issues, upgrades, and enhancements in collaboration with IT and software vendors.






  • Document payroll procedures, workflows, and system configurations to support process consistency and knowledge sharing.






  • Collaboration and Support:






  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and IT, to ensure smooth payroll operations.






  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries or issues.






  • Provide timely and professional responses to employee payroll inquiries and support tickets, ensuring clear communication and efficient issue resolution.






Qualifications & Experience:




  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.






  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Analyst, Payroll Accountant, or in a similar role. Preferably within a government contracting environment.






  • Demonstrated understanding of payroll processing, reporting, compliance, and regulations.






  • Preferred experience with payroll software and systems, preferably Paycom and JAMIS.






  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and perform data analysis. Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and formulas.






  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, calculations and audit processes. High attention to detail in reconciling payroll transactions and reports.






  • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment






  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.






  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including HR, Finance, and Compliance.






  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential payroll information
