Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

AM-HUB Retail Weighing Group develops and implements strategic software and product direction for our Network and Prepack products with a strong focus on the Americas. The Requirements Engineer works within this group and closely with business leaders, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality teams and software teams to provide requirements engineering, project management services, current product support, and integration of products into retailers within the US/EU market.

    The Solutions Engineer works with global development teams for the integration and customization of current and future generation products into customer's environment to support retailer's strategic direction. Some projects require project communication across multiple METTLER TOLEDO organizations or between METTLER TOLEDO and its customers.

    This person will assist in gathering customer requirements for the Americas, assessing the competitive landscape, and developing system solutions; thereby establishing the global and regional positioning of Network and Prepack products and solutions. The individual needs a strong hands-on technical background, good communication skills and the ability to work with international colleagues on group projects.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Requirements engineering for custom software solutions
    • Project management with local and international teams for both product and software projects
    • Coordinating and maintaining business relationships with external resources for the production of technical documentation supporting Network and Prepack software solutions and products.
    What You Need to Succeed

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer/Technical related field.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to work on small and large sized teams as a leader or an individual contributor.
    • Must be able to independently solve business problems with minimal need of additional resources or assistance.
    • Must have experience in all phases of mainstream development approaches.
    • Demonstrated success in taking ownership and participating in diverse (geographic, cultural, and disciplinary) teams.
    • Must be willing to travel 25 - 35% of the time to customer sites and occasionally to international meetings.
    • Must be highly organized and have a thorough understanding of business practices.
    • Technical project experience and sound financial practices; including related support and product development activities; preferably with retail software environment.
    • Prefer the candidate be able to lead initiatives and apply standard principles of project management.
    • German, Spanish, French, or Chinese preferred

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • This position has a travel requirement of 25-35% including both domestic and international travel (by commercial or personal means, including economy class air travel) for company meetings and vendor visits. The ability to obtain a passport with valid visas for entry into countries throughout the world is required.
