About the Role:


As a Legal Analyst II at Uniti, you'll be the trusted right hand to our in-house counsel shaping how we protect our people and our business. You will support lead critical workflows, streamline processes, and elevate how legal and HR collaborate. What You Will Do:



  • Lead and Coordinate Responses: Take a leading role in responding to complex requests from employees, leaders, administrative agencies, outside counsel, and others concerning labor and employment law matters at the Company.
  • Manage State Certifications and EEO Reporting: Oversee and independently handle state employment certifications and EEO reporting for various state and federal agencies; provide strategic support in affirmative action and EEO reporting, including audits and requests for information from federal and state agencies.
  • Handle Subpoenas and Legal Documents: Independently respond to subpoenas for personnel and other HR records. This involves gathering documents, drafting advanced correspondence, and handling inquiries and follow-up with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with Legal Teams: Work closely with Corporate Legal team and Benefits and Compensation Counsel on complex litigation and other legal matters such as Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and benefit appeals. Provide insights and recommendations based on in-depth legal knowledge.
  • Enhanced Recordkeeping: Maintain and optimize electronic filing systems. Manage litigation holds issued by in-house counsel and oversee the organization of crucial documents such as NDAs, separation agreements, releases, and investigation files.
  • Develop and Implement Processes: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency in legal and administrative procedures.
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research using databases like LexisNexis and analyze findings to support legal teams in decision-making processes.

  • Advanced Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of dealing with complex legal terminology and concepts.
  • Leadership and Customer Service Skills: Strong leadership abilities combined with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Advanced Software Proficiency: Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and legal research databases.
  • Organizational Mastery: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks efficiently.
  • Legal Knowledge: Advanced understanding of law practices, legal records, and procedures.
  • Independence and Confidentiality: Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong team collaboration skills, both in-person and virtually, with an ability to lead and mentor junior team members.


Even Better:



  • Expert Knowledge of Computer Programs: In-depth working knowledge of relevant computer programs, including advanced features of MS Office.
  • Experience with Legal Systems: Proven experience with document management systems and a thorough understanding of applicable document development processes.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7+ years of experience in a legal administrative role, with at least 4 years directly related to the job. Advanced degrees or certifications in legal studies or related fields may be substituted for experience as deemed appropriate.
