The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC


Responsibilities

In this role, the Program Analyst will serve as an Executive Secretariat, supporting the NAVSEA AUKUS program within Team Submarine responsible for the integrated support to the Australian Nuclear-Powered Submarine initiative. This role supports the US Secretariat Lead to provide liaison between the U.S. AUKUS Integration and Acquisition (I&A) program delivery office and the trilateral AUKUS Pillar I Portfolio Office. Responsibilities include serving on the U.S. Executive Secretariat team to organize and support senior-level trilateral governance meetings, track high-visibility action items through the program, coordinate tasking and completion of program wide initiatives and actions, assist in minute taking, routing documents through senior leadership for approval, delivering weekly updates to senior leadership, organizing knowledge management systems, and assist in improving processes and approaches to document approvals. The team is focused on continuous improvement and so this role will be expected to assist in improving and developing processes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. As this role sits within a trilateral team, exceptional communication and diplomatic skills are a must. A proven track record in stakeholder engagement and secretariat functions is essential. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

This position is located at the Washington Navy Yard, in Washington, DC.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. DC Pay Transparency Range: $110,000-130,000.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience (preferably in a government office, either as civilian, contractor, or military)
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with high emotional intelligence and experience with diplomatic stakeholder relationships
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with process development/improvement
  • Experience with knowledge management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Flexibility to attend early morning or late evening meetings (virtually) with international stakeholders
  • Current DoD SECRET clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience supporting submarine programs
  • Experience with international/FMS programs
