About The Role:

We are seeking a "been there, done that" leader who has built scalable, repeatable communications processes that help organizations grow from medium to large scale while establishing expertise globally. This person will have a deep and effective knowledge of both internal communications and colleague engagement, particularly in the corporate transformation and change management space.

The Director will thrive in complex, global, and highly field-based organizations, bringing both foresight and execution as a player-coach. This leader will partner with executive and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, inclusive communication that builds engagement, drives cultural alignment, and supports organizational change, while ensuring clarity and connection across functions, regions, and key constituents.

This person will serve as a steward of the company's deep-rooted culture, protecting, amplifying, and scaling it in everything they do, ensuring communications not only inform but also strengthen the sense of purpose, belonging, and shared identity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Strategy & Alignment



  • Design and deliver a comprehensive internal communications strategy aligned with global and regional business priorities, culture, and long-term transformation goals.
  • Serve as the central integrator, ensuring a global, holistic view of communications across functions and regions.
  • Partner with senior leaders and departments to connect business priorities with colleague impact, reducing silos and strengthening alignment.
  • Drive thought leadership and positioning by leading communications that translate investor relations priorities and financial narratives into clear, compelling messages that strengthen colleague understanding and confidence


Executive & Board Communications



  • Guide communications with executive leadership, board members, and other key stakeholders with discretion and precision.
  • Translate complex governance, compliance, and corporate priorities into clear, colleague-friendly communications.
  • Partner with leaders across the business to ensure transparency, alignment, and trust.


Change Management Communications



  • Serve as the strategic architect of communication plans that drive adoption of technology, process, and cultural transformation initiatives.
  • Translate complex transformation goals into clear, compelling narratives that align with organizational purpose and values.
  • Anticipate colleague needs and potential barriers, crafting messaging that builds clarity, trust, and commitment.
  • Advise executives and functional leaders on effective communications across diverse audiences and geographies.
  • Builds and deploys scalable enablement templates, tools and materials to support effective functional communications, ie: events, HR, acquisition


Technology, Data & Analytics as Enablers



  • Build and scale modern communications platforms, intranets, mobile apps, and digital tools to connect a global, distributed workforce.
  • Bring a fresh, tech-savvy perspective informed by proven experience in leveraging innovative tools and platforms to drive engagement.
  • Use data, analytics, and colleague feedback to measure effectiveness, assess reach and impact, and continuously improve strategies.
  • Champion two-way dialogue by creating opportunities for colleagues to be heard, closing the loop with transparent updates and actions.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies to personalize communications at scale and future-proof engagement strategies.


Employee Engagement & Experience



  • Champion initiatives that strengthen belonging, connection, and colleague experience globally.
  • Partner with HR, Tech, Sales & Ops, regional leaders, and other strategic functions to ensure colleague voices are heard and integrated into cultural and business initiatives.
  • Enable two-way engagement, moving beyond broadcast communications to foster dialogue.


Agency & Resource Management



  • Manage external agencies, consultants, and resources to extend capabilities, ensuring efficiency, alignment, and excellence.


Leadership & Team Development



  • Serve as a player-coach, mentoring communications talent while delivering on high-priority initiatives.

Requirements:



  • 12+ years of progressive internal communications experience, including 5+ years in a global leadership role.


  • Proven success in field-based/distributed workforce organizations (e.g., services, logistics, manufacturing, construction).
  • Deep expertise in change management communications with a track record of driving adoption of transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience in executive and board-level communications and investor relations.
  • Skilled in colleague engagement platforms, intranets, mobile tools, and analytics.
  • Data- and insights-driven mindset, with proven ability to measure communications effectiveness, analyze colleague sentiment, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate with diverse audiences - from executives to front-line colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and influence senior executives with discretion and strategic insight.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, building trust and alignment across the business.
  • Proven experience managing external agencies and resources effectively.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills; able to distill complexity into clarity and inspiration.
