Manual Lathe Duties



  • Reviews drawings, instructions, shop travelers to determine required set up
  • Performs manual set up, problem solves any constraints.
  • Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
  • Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
  • Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
  • Maintains production standards and quality requirements
  • Adheres to the corporate code of conduct
  • Compliance to IPM/QPM and ISO standards
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and requirements
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in math
  • Basic computer skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Provides accurate feedback to the department supervisor
  • Lean skills always driving and suggesting improvements
  • Team player





  • Must be fluent in English, speaking, reading and writing






  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols
  • Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
