Airport Security Operator

Hourly Pay Range $21.29 - $23.81

Job Summary: The Airport Security Operator is responsible for collecting personal identifiable information, review of Sensitive Security Information, and issuance of airport identification and access media in accordance with the County's Rules & Regulations, federal regulations, and security directives to authorized personnel.



Essential Role Responsibilities:



  • Collects, maintains, controls, protects, and destroys biographic and biometric PII as the airport's Trusted Agents for initial and renewal applicants in accordance with established procedures, policies, and federal regulations.
  • Ensures authorized individuals complete required computer-based training courses based on their operational needs. Maintains the Identity Management Credentialing System.
  • Ensures reports and records are completed and distributed on-time to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Assist in managing and auditing the airport's credentialing management and access control systems to ensure authorized airport employees are granted identification and access pertaining to their job duties. Maintains records database and organization of files
  • Communicates with airport employees, tenants, and stakeholders on airport security topics.
  • Other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Current Resident of Wisconsin.
  • Current Driver's License
  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • At least 6 months of experience working at an airport under regulations FAR Part 139 and TSR Part 1542 Airport.
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets and Airport's access control and credentialing management systems.
  • Successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), Security Threat Assessment (STA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) background check to obtain unescorted access to security areas of the Airport.


  • Ability to carry/push/pull 50 lbs.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to assess identity documents for authenticity and identify suspicious documentation and activities.



NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the state of Wisconsin at the time of application. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
