New Graduate Project Engineer I - Transportation Design

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects
• Develop 3D models and plans usingAutoDesk Civil 3Dand/orBentley OpenRoads Designer
• Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software
• Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages
• Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials
• Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
• Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning
• Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions
• Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities
• Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery

Skill/Requirementsof a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred
• EIT preferred
• Experience withBentley OpenRoads Designerand/orAutoDesk Civil 3D(preferred)
• Familiarity withVDOT standards and procedures(preferred)
