Job Description The Department of Music and Dance of the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks to hire an Associate Professor of Music History (with tenure). The position is open to candidates with research and teaching expertise in any area of historical musicology, although preference will be accorded to candidates whose expertise can complement that of current faculty. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position at the Associate Professor rank to begin September 1, 2026. Responsibilities:
Salary Information The University of Massachusetts Amherst expects to pay within an approximate range between $90,160 and $125,563 for this position. Please note:
Additional Information The selected candidate will undergo an expedited tenure process upon hiring. This position is a 9-month academic year appointment at 100%FTE with full benefits.
