The Administrator of Sustainability Strategy and Reporting will help support the company's core value of Sustainability in Action and manage core reporting functions. This role demands a strategic mindset, exceptional data literacy, and superior soft skills to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives across the organization.

POSITION DIMENSIONS

This position is not responsible for people or budgets. This position reports to the Manager/ESG. This position influences and collaborates with Company officers and heads of internal departments, and represents the Company in communicating with the community stakeholders, industry contacts, government officials, trade organizations, and customers to address emerging energy trends and advocate for Southwest Gas and the natural gas industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires four to six years of progressive experience in an ESG, Sustainability, Data Analyst, Financial Reporting, Policy Analysis, Marketing or Corporate Communications role, with a strong focus on data governance, reporting, and project management. Experience within a highly regulated industry such as energy, utilities, finance, or a large, publicly traded corporation is highly desirable given the emphasis on compliance and internal controls.

A bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Communications, Political Science, Marketing, or a related field. A relevant Master's degree or advanced certification is a plus.

Technical & Reporting Expertise

* Framework Mastery: Deep, demonstrable knowledge of and practical experience with major ESG reporting frameworks and standards, including:

o Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

o Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB)

o Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

o IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (ISSB)

* Data Systems: Proven proficiency in managing, administering, and leveraging ESG data management systems/software (e.g., dedicated sustainability software, internal database management tools).

* Data Integrity: Expertise in developing and implementing internal controls, QA/QC processes, and data validation for non-financial data.

* Financial/Ratings Knowledge: Familiarity with the data requirements and methodologies used by major ESG ratings and rankings organizations (e.g., ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP).

* Policy Analysis: Demonstrated ability to actively track, analyze, and synthesize emerging policy and regulatory developments (e.g., SEC climate rules, EU CSRD, California climate rules) and assess their impact on corporate strategy and reporting.

Strategic & Professional Attributes

* Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to link detailed reporting requirements to the high-level corporate sustainability strategy, demonstrating the capacity for long-term thinking and planning.

* Project Management: Strong formal or informal project management skills with a track record of successfully planning, executing, and monitoring complex, multi-departmental projects. PMP or similar certification is a plus.

* Cross-Functional Leadership: Exceptional soft personal skills including negotiation, facilitation, and influencing without direct authority. Proven ability to lead cross-functional working groups and achieve consensus among stakeholders with conflicting priorities.

* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically the ability to translate complex quantitative data and technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both internal (senior leadership) and external audiences (Annual Sustainability Report).

* Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple, dynamic projects and deadlines simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

*Oversee and manage the complete lifecycle of ESG data, including gathering, validation, analysis, and uploading into the central data management system.

*Develop, implement, and manage robust internal controls, quality assurance (QA), and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all reported ESG metrics.

*Manage and coordinate the preparation, review, and timely submission of responses to key ESG disclosure requests, ratings, and rankings (e.g., ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics).

*Lead the reporting process to align with major global frameworks and standards, including GRI, SASB, IFRS (ISSB), TCFD, and other relevant industry/regulatory requirements.

*Plan, execute, and monitor ESG-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the company's sustainability strategy.

*Lead and coordinate cross-functional working groups composed of representatives from various departments to inform, secure necessary data, define metrics, and implement ESG-related initiatives.

*Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization, effectively managing and navigating conflicting priorities to achieve consensus and drive progress.

*Conduct research and analysis on emerging ESG trends, risks, and opportunities specific to the utility sector to inform and support the corporate ESG strategy.

*Support the development of internal and external communications (e.g., Annual Sustainability Report, website content) by providing accurate data and clear narrative on the utility's ESG performance.

*Actively track, monitor, and analyze emerging ESG-related policies, regulations, and legislative developments relevant to the corporate sector (e.g., SEC climate rules, California Climate Rules).

*Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned

SALARY DETAILS

Las Vegas: $93,380 - $140,070
