EnSafe is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to work as a full-time consultant at a client site in Lenexa, KS. This position is based on a 6-month contract basis with the potential for extension. This is a dynamic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by driving safety culture and compliance in a manufacturing environment.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will:
- Conduct air, noise, and other exposure monitoring to evaluate employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological agents.
- Maintain and calibrate industrial hygiene equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Develop and execute sampling plans to assess workplace exposures.
- Analyze sampling results and recommend control measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Track and verify completion of IH related activities.
- Ensure proper collection, labeling, and handling of samples to maintain chain-of-custody integrity.
- Coordinate with Liberty Mutual laboratories for sample analysis and ensure timely receipt of results.
- Document all sample collection and analysis processes to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Act as a key point of contact for the IH aspects of MOC processes.
- Evaluate proposed changes to equipment, processes, or materials to identify potential EHS impacts.
- Ensure that appropriate risk assessments and reviews are conducted during the MOC process.
- Participate in design and process reviews to ensure exposure prevention.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- Certification in industrial hygiene (CIH) or occupational health and safety.
- 5+ years of experience in EHS or industrial hygiene in manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of industrial hygiene principles, sampling techniques, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment and software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate hazards and recommend solutions.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to ethical practices and maintaining confidentiality in sensitive matters.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in industrial hygiene (CIH) or occupational health and safety.
- Experience in aerospace, or defense environment.
