Position Summary:

Oversees the daily operations of the surgery scheduling department and the Operating Room front desk personnel, ensuring accurate, timely coordination of surgical cases and optimal use of operating room resources. Leads and supports scheduling staff, manages workload distributions, and ensures compliance with clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with surgeons, clinical teams, and administrative leadership to resolve scheduling conflicts, improve workflows, and enhance patient experience. Responsible for performance monitoring, training, and maintaining high standards of communication, efficiency, and accuracy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coordinates surgery scheduling activities to ensure accurate case entry, timely bookings, and efficient use of operating room resources.

  • Provides supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing training to scheduling staff to maintain high levels of accuracy, professionalism, and productivity.

  • Collaborates with surgeons, clinical teams, anesthesia, and perioperative leadership to troubleshoot conflicts, verify case readiness, and ensure smooth workflow.

  • Maintains adherence to hospital policies, accreditation requirements, and clinical protocols, while monitoring data accuracy and identifying process improvement opportunities.

  • Tracks scheduling metrics, staffing needs, and operational trends; prepares reports and implements improvements to enhance efficiency, patient experience and OR utilization.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
