The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Firm Recognition to join our Business Development & Marketing team in the Washington, D.C. office. This position leads the firm's Washington D.C. office's participation in directories, awards and surveys submissions across various practices, in coordination with colleagues in practice-specific roles. Practices include Competition/Antitrust, Cybersecurity & Data Privacy, Energy Regulatory, Financial Services Regulatory, International Trade, National Security, Mass Torts, Insurance and Consumer Litigation, Securities Enforcement, SEC Compliance, Supreme Court & Appellate Litigation and Tax, among others as needed. The Senior Specialist supports additional recognition projects out of the firm's New York office. This position strategizes with practice leaders and partners on positioning; identifies potential new opportunities for recognition; and writes and edits submissions with the goal of enhancing the firm brand. The Senior Specialist coordinates and collaborates with business development and marketing colleagues across relevant practices and offices. The position will be based in our Washington, D.C. office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Please note that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

  • Responsible for securing prominent recognition of the firm's work that can be directly leveraged for business development and marketing efforts.
  • Works with the Firm Recognition Manager, other firm management, practice leaders and partners to devise strategy for submissions to legal guides and awards nominations in order to differentiate the firm from peers.
  • Builds strong relationships within practices in order to best understand and advance marketing goals.
  • Works with business development colleagues and other firm departments to gather information needed for awards, directories and surveys.
  • Writes and edits award nominations and directory submissions in collaboration with practice leaders and other partners.
  • Manages firm recognition projects and coordinates with business development and marketing colleagues globally.
  • Identifies best practices and provides guidance to colleagues globally.
  • Interfaces with editors and researchers in connection with submissions for awards, directories and surveys.
  • Coordinates with media team colleagues handling positioning for media coverage resulting from attorney/practice recognition.
  • Researches new opportunities and analyzes awards and directory participation and marketing efforts by peer firms.
  • Assists in compiling peer analysis and historical recognition data as needed.
  • Oversees work of junior staff on various projects.
  • Supports other business development and marketing initiatives to build the firm brand.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills
  • Thinks both creatively and pragmatically; comfortable with a sophisticated corporate audience
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years of related experience in a law firm or professional services environment

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

Salary Details

$125,000 - $135,000
