CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline overlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acute care medical facility in the region, with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It is the leading emergency facility in the area with a Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with physicians and nurses specially trained in emergency services.

Summary:

Responsible for overseeing and being a resource for the HIM techs in the department. Coordinates specific areas of the Health Information Management Department including organizing, directing and controlling: Imaging process: Prep/Scan/QR, Deficiency Analysis, Incomplete Record Area, and Birth Registry. Monitor queues in various systems to maintain workflows, complete chart audits for various quality assurance requirements, and complete volume and productivity daily reports. Coordinate operation tasks such as equipment repair and supply ordering, and assist with various duties in the absence of the HIM Manager.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for overseeing and being a resource for the HIM techs in the department.
  • Monitor and track daily workflow processes in the HIM department
  • Conducts quality audits and productivity reports.

Requirements:

Education/Skills


  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Attain and maintain bi-yearly Texas Electronic Registrar training and yearly Acknowledgement of Paternity training for Birth Registrars. This may be acquired after hire/transfer when provided by the State. This is a requirement at CHRISTUS Spohn Alice, Kleberg, and Beeville.
  • Graduate of an approved Health Information Technology program required.

Experience


  • Minimum two years' experience in a health care facility or physician's office.
  • Previous Medical Records experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications


  • RHIT preferred
