Could This Be For You? Position Overview: The Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician is responsible for fabricating prostheses for people with limb absence. The technician fabricates the device to provide maximum fit, function, cosmetics and workmanship. The technician also repairs the prosthetic devices as needed. They are expected to keep abreast of new fabricating techniques, must be familiar with the properties of pertinent materials, and must be skilled in the use of appropriate equipment. This work environment will be away from the exam room, typically in a small workshop. Since this role is focusing heavily on the fabrication process, hand skills and familiarity with hand tools is necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience with vacuum systems, heat guns, blades, speed routers, and other small hand tools. Your Impact Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Depending on the operational requirements, this position may include some or all of the functions listed below:
Perform fabrication and repair of prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards.
Knowledge and Skills:
