Job Description

Performs 2/3 dimensional, Color Flow, and Doppler Echocardiograms.

Job Responsibility




  • * Performs 2/3 dimensional, color flow, and Doppler echoes. Downloads images for diagnosing. Records all measurements after each case.
  • * Transeophageal Echocardiograms: Assists by preparing equipment. Sterilizes tee probes after each use. Assist in scheduling patients with clinicians. Maintains related logs.
  • * Stress Echocardiograms: Prepares patient for stress echo by explaining test and prepping patient.
  • * Enters information into stress machine and log book. Acquires proper images for stress testing. Assists physician during testing. Enters patient information into teletracking system to request patient transport.
  • * Maintains patient demographic information for video tapes.
  • * Ensures scheduled studies are completed by end of day.
  • * Contacts equipment manufacturers to report any malfunctions and facilitate repair.
  • * Orders supplies, keeps work space neat and orderly.
  • * Posts next days schedule for TEE and Echo. Prepares and stocks exam rooms for next day.
  • Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency, required. Associates Degree with completion of ultrasound program, preferred.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience, required. Experience in cardiac ultrasound, preferred.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound equipment, oximeter, blood pressure monitor, echo database computer, fax machine, and telephone, required.
  • Current and valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in operating ultrasound equipment, using various imaging modalities (2D, 3D, Doppler), and understanding the physics of ultrasound
  • Specialized Knowledge: A deep and detailed understanding of pediatric cardiac anatomy, physiology, and congenital heart disease.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pediatrics echocardiography experience
