JOB TITLE: PROJECT DIRECTOR - INDUSTRIAL


REPORTS TO: SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT/BUSINESS UNIT LEADER



POSITION SUMMARY


The Project Director drives the success of our project management teams, shaping growth and development of our Industrial group. In this role, you'll provide leadership, mentorship, and hands-on guidance, while staying actively engaged in project delivery. As a trusted leader, you will be the primary point of contact of our industrial clients, ensuring their needs are met through collaborative problem solving.



The Project Director will be responsible but not limited to the following:



Leadership and Management



  • Lead and develop Project Management teams, providing guidance and mentorship to foster growth and performance.
  • Provide guidance on project team workload and project assignments.
  • Attend key project meetings to support teams, address challenges, and reinforce successful project delivery.
  • Lead preconstruction efforts and oversee project start-up to establish strong foundations.
  • Guide and support design-build activities across all cold storage and industrial projects to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Engage actively in industry associations and professional networks to strengthen Pepper's presence.



Financial and Operational Efficiency



  • Manage project budgets, cash flow, and receivables to meet financial objectives.
  • Develop team understanding of cost control practices to ensure project profitability and accountability including clearly communicating contract terms and conditions to project teams.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies as the jobs progress.
  • Contribute to overall company earnings goals by supporting project teams in achieving profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and contractors to ensure alignment of project goals.



Business Development



  • Maintain and cultivate strong client relationships to secure repeat business and achieve business goals.
  • Represent the team and company in client interactions, promoting trust and long-term partnerships.


  • Lead and participate in proposal development, presentations, and interviews to position Pepper as the partner of choice.
  • Subject matter expert within their Industrial market.



Strategic Planning



  • Assist Business Unit Leaders in preparing business plans and overhead budgets for the team.
  • Support the development of profit plans, risk mitigation strategies, and operational improvements to align with company goals.



Culture



  • Promote the company's core values and act as a role model for team members.


  • Foster alignment and collaboration within the team through open communication and engagement
  • Lead project teams in upholding the company's safety standards and maintaining a safe workplace.



Position Requirements



  • Education & Experience:


    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a related field from an accredited university.
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction and team leadership experience.


  • Skills & Attributes:


    • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others.
    • A commanding personal presence with a focus on professionalism and integrity.
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities and potential for advancement to senior leadership positions.




The salary range for this position is $180,000. We consider many factors when determining actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
