Summary of the Job:

The Sr. Associate, Risk Evaluation & Assurance is responsible for testing of the Partnership and Credit Divisions. This role must conduct independent testing and evaluation of business line processes and controls to ensure they are effectively mitigating risks and aligning regulatory and internal policy requirements. Additionally, this role is responsible for driving ongoing evolution of first line testing by identifying ways to automate testing and monitoring activities. The ideal candidate for this role is someone that has analytical rigor, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify control gaps and recommend enhancements.

About This Role:

Testing Execution

  • Conduct testing of business line processes and controls in accordance with the first line testing program. This includes identifying the testing scope, developing the steps needed to test, and gathering testing components with limited disruption.
  • Assess control design and operating effectiveness against established risk management standards and policies.
  • Perform root cause analysis on identified control failures, determine impact, and report to correct areas to ensure proper resolution/remediation.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of testing activities, including testing scripts, evidence collection, and results.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing testing outcomes, including identified issues and recommendations.
  • Ensure documentation meets standards and can be utilized and relied upon by second and third lines of defense.

Collaboration

  • Partner with business line stakeholders to understand processes, controls, and associated risks.
  • Communicate testing findings and recommendations to management and assist in developing action plans to address identified gaps, while translating regulatory requirements into language that is easily understandable for business units.
  • Manage requests for information related to testing efforts from second and third lines of defense, or external regulators.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness and control ownership within the business line.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed on regulatory updates, industry best practices, and emerging risks to enhance testing methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes and implement efficiencies through automation and holistic populations versus sampling.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of compliance or operational risk experience, ideally within testing, auditing or an analytical discipline.

  • Demonstrated and strong ability to plan, prioritize, problem solve, and multi-task with competing deadlines with detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with proven ability to deliver in a clear and concise manner to appropriate levels of detail based on the purpose and audience, including Senior Leadership
  • Ability to build, develop and maintain collaborative working relationships within own division and across the enterprise and at all levels
  • Ability to develop, organize, facilitate, and monitor compliance standards.
  • Ability to identify and recommend objective resolutions to problems and risk analysis.
  • Strong Knowledge and demonstrated experience in Microsoft Product Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of business unit processes, products, and services
  • Desire to obtain Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or other relevant certification.
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $80,061.00-$132,099.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.

Work Environment:

It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you'll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
