| Job Description |
Full-time assistant professor position for an individual to direct the graduate science education program in the Department of Biology, which includes teaching online and campus courses in the program as well as introductory biology courses such as Principles of Biology. Responsibilities also include service on departmental and university committees. Candidates should either hold a current science teaching license at the middle or high school level in NC or be eligible to apply for licensure or its equivalent. Preference is given to candidates with at least three years of teaching experience in science in grades 6-12 in public schools.
The minimum degree required Ph.D. in an appropriate area of science education and/or biology or a minimum of 18 hours of approved graduate coursework in science education. Current middle or high school NC science licensure or eligibility to apply for licensure or its equivalent with a demonstration of excellence in teaching.
