Gemini is looking a Metal Letter/Plaque Finisher to join our Plaques team in Cannon Falls, MN on the 1st shift. Ideal candidate has a mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail with openness and flexibility to work around the plant. This is a great opportunity to work with a fun team and produce high-quality, custom, one-of-a-kind metal plaques and to cross train and learn continuously. Wage Range: USD $19.36 - 25.38 per Hour Location: Cannon Falls, MN Type: Full Time - On-site Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm ( Mon through Fri)

A day in the life of a Metal Letter Plaque Finisher at Gemini includes:
- Belt sands gates, flashing, and unwanted roughness from the returns of metal letters and logos.
- Drills and taps letters or stud weld parts for further handling or customer installation.
- Hand finishes the areas on parts that were not accessible at belt sanding.
- Blasts the returns of parts to create a consistent, uniform frosted finish.
- Polishes parts to a "near mirror" consistent finish.
- Washes parts to remove polishing compounds or unwanted residue from the finishing process.
- Stroke sands parts to remove the rough outer layer and create a smooth, consistent finish necessary for painting, polishing, or anodizing.
- Edges and racks parts according to color and requested ship date.
- Maintains a thorough awareness of order dates, reworks, and remakes, plus prioritize workflow accordingly.
- Communicates needs, problems, questions, and ideas with Lead Person or Supervisor.
- Signs and dates quality check sheets after correct completion of the order.
- Logs completed orders and updates the daily area dollar total after the finishing, stroke sanding, and polishing areas.
- Maintains an awareness of and strives to achieve all plant goals.
- Maintains an awareness of inventories/supplies and notifies Lead Person to reorder.
- Maintains an awareness of the means by which process improvements can be achieved and makes related recommendations to Department Supervisor.
- Maintains a positive and productive working relationship with all department employees, Leads, and Supervisors.
- Follows all safe work practices as outlined in company Safety policies.
- Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
- May perform reasonably similar duties as assigned. This may include backup/helper in anodizing, painting, pouring, timesaving, shipping, oxidizing, patina, and other departments.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent demonstrated competency through work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
