About the Position:


This position is an integral part of a dynamic and vibrant team that provides support for the School of Music faculty, students, alumni, and community of supporters. Responsibilities:



  • Serve as communications liaison between the Director, Dewberry School of Music, and students, faculty, and the University community;
  • Manage calendar/schedule for the Director, Dewberry School of Music;
  • Schedule meetings, record minutes, and prepare meeting technology for the School of Music;
  • Ensure efficiency of academic processes, e.g., faculty and staff searches, supervising student office assistants and marketing interns;
  • Manage office and assist new faculty and staff members;
  • Create graphic designs for events in Canva or Photoshop;
  • Design bi-monthly Constant Contact newsletters promoting upcoming concerts, initiatives, announcements etc.; and
  • Curate social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X with the assistance of an intern.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of performing arts;
  • Must navigate databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite, social media, and Canva or Photoshop with ease;
  • Attention to detail in scheduling meetings with appropriate follow-up on email conversations; and
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills; and
  • Detail-oriented in all aspects.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated ability working with a diverse population of artists, students, faculty, staff, and community members.
