The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) provides safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of pedestrians, goods, and vehicular traffic on the streets, highways, bridges, and waterways of the City's transportation network. NYCDOT rehabilitates and maintains the City's infrastructure, including bridges, tunnels, streets, sidewalks, and highways. NYCDOT Grants & Fiscal Management division maximizes grant funding opportunities to achieve the agency's strategic goals and objectives by monitoring federal and state legislative actions, seeking new funding opportunities, administering the program, obtaining reimbursement and ensuring compliance with the Department's federal and state grant programs. Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting, including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing; or Preferred Skills
1.Efficiently address project fiscal issues such as project budget and expenditures tracking. 2.Demonstrate exceptional organizational, written and oral communications, problem solving, and analytic skills. - Ability to work calmly and proficiently under pressure and to adhere to strict deadlines. 3.Experience with grant funding. 4.Experience with Information Technology in the public sector. - Experience with the New York Citys Financial Management System (FMS). 5.Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills. 6.Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment able to multi-task and meet deadlines. 7.Ability to apply critical and strategic thinking. 8.Must be extremely detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful, and reliable. 9.Experience culling and analyzing large amounts of data from numerous sources. 10.Must be a team player, work well with others and possess excellent communications skills. 11.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access Database.
