Overview

How you can make a difference

The Sr Manager of Card Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the Card Operations team, driving constant improvement of overall member/employer/plan experience as well as the underlying systems and processes. This role will work with Business Analysts to identify bugs and user stories and provide input on prioritization. Responsible for working closely with card processor for implementation of new features, configuration of current portfolio, and managing open tickets and projects. Interface with vendors for day to day issues and large company initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Essential Management Responsibilities:

    Manages and carries out the personnel actions for direct reports, including but not limited to hiring and scheduling; training and evaluating; coaching and managing performance; making salary, merit, or other compensation recommendations for team of direct reports; and making recommendations and/or taking corrective or disciplinary action as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of team of Card Ops Sr Analysts, including delegating and assigning projects, people management,and holding individuals accountable for deliverables and results
  • Oversee Card Operations processes, procedures, disclosures, and training plans, ensuring ongoing accuracy, compliance and effectiveness through regular review.
  • Lead cross-departmental projects and initiatives including Service Recovery items
  • Manage card operational process improvements by collaborating with internal partners and product development to streamline processes and systematic work flows (such as enrollment, activation, or disputes work flows)
  • Occasionally represent HQY with card specific vendors
  • Drive card initiatives, encompassing coordination with vendors and internal groups (such as Engineering, to execute large strategic projects and implementations
  • Manage Sr Card Ops Analysts and guide them through assigned projects/initiatives and processes
  • Serve as Deep SME on card industry
  • Serve as Deep SME on internal systems and relational databases
  • Review and support escalated card operations cases within Operational Level Agreements
  • Create materials and lead training opportunities for other operations groups and MS and PRM/Account Management
  • Lead team of Senior Card Analysts in completing necessary duties, performance evaluations, pay actions, and regular coaching

What you will need to be successful

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in related field, required
  • 10+ years of related work experience, including 5+ years experience with Card Processors and 5+ years experience in Prepaid and Debit Card Industry - including Card Associations, Processing, and card production
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Card Program Implementations / New Business Development experience for card programs a plus

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated track record of determining and executing on process efficiencies designed to improve workflow and client experience
  • Excellent consultative and communication skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, relationship management, account management, or customer service experience a plus
  • General card industry knowledge including card fraud monitoring and dispute/chargeback management
  • Health Care Accounts Knowledge: HSAs, FSAs, HRAs, Employee/Employer benefits, Health-Wellness Incentives
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to rapidly assimilate new information and translate into team and project implications
  • Project management and organizational skills, including creating and managing work plans, hosting calls, identifying issues and creating risk mitigation plans
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong data analytics to track team KPIs and staffing model
  • Proficient at SQL queries and relational database data analysis
  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge using Databricks and SQL office suites
  • Vendor management experience

Salary Range

$83500.00 To $107000.00 / year

The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
