The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) Office of Cancer Research Training & Education Coordination (CRTEC) seeks an Administrative Associate who supports the CRTEC team. Established in 2018, CRTEC's goal is to promote the development of the next generation of cancer researchers and health professionals. This position supports the CRTEC office by coordinating activities for the CRTEC programs intended for individuals interested in cancer research. This position helps the team prepare for participant professional development and networking events, collect and track data, evaluate program successes and implement feedback, and provide marketing assistance to reach intended audiences. | Duties & Responsibilities |
Administrative and Program Activities:
- Under the guidance of the Associate Director of CRTEC, implement all administrative and program activities for the 2-year American Cancer Society (ACS) Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship program and the summer medical school education and training programs offered through CRTEC. This includes:
- Supporting marketing and student recruitment in collaboration with partnering programs. Draft marketing correspondence to local and national colleges and universities.
- Supporting the matching of post- baccalaureate fellows with mentors.
- Providing logistical support for the planning and implementation of networking opportunities, training and professional development sessions, and the culminating oral and poster presentations.
- Maintaining program records and organizing and maintaining files for student applications.
- Assisting with data tracking and program evaluation.
- Coordinating with HR team to provide information to set up program participants with UA credentials.
Data Collection:
- Perform data collection and management activities for assigned CRTEC training and education programs in areas including, but not limited to:
- Distribution and collection of trainee and partner data.
- Management of data files.
- Preparation of data for internal CRTEC and UACC reporting and external reports for partners, funders and the community.
Communications:
- Coordinate with Cancer Center Administration, Communications teams, and other UACC programs to provide input to and distribute social media and marketing materials for CRTEC initiatives.
- Assisting with gathering and reporting information for the UACC and University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS) newsletters and updates to the CRTEC web pages.
- Provide general administrative assistance and coordination for special projects, as needed, in support of CRTEC training initiatives and in collaboration with other CRTEC staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of data and evaluation tools such as Excel and Qualtrics.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to effectively manage competing job responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently and proactively to meet position goals and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain a high levels of customer service.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and ability to collaborate with a diverse team.

- Ability to occasionally attend program events in the evening and/or weekends.
- Ability to travel to program events locally and in surrounding counties.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
