Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Mid-level Cloud Analyst in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. You will be the core support function for the entire cloud professional services team, focusing on process management, documentation, and data analysis. You will ensure standards are current, assist in documenting RHOSP standards and RHEL runbooks, and that the team's impact is clearly communicated on behalf of our program's private cloud environment in support of our tenants. What you'll do:

    Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
    • Maintain the library of ProServe deliverables, including RHOSP reference architectures, Ansible playbooks, and service standards.
    • Assist the professional service team's architect and reliability engineer in drafting, formatting, and standardizing technical root cause analysis (RCA) documents and RHEL/RHOSP operational runbooks.
  • Support & Research
    • Perform foundational research on emerging OpenStack features, updates, and RHEL service packs to support the Architect's strategic planning.
    • Provide lighter-touch support and documentation for common tenant inquiries related to basic OpenStack CLI commands.
  • Maintain partnership with Red Hat vendor to stay up to date with the latest advancements in Red Hat products and industry best practices to maintain effective and innovative infrastructures


Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Associates degree and 7+ years of experience in a systems engineering related field; OR bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience in a systems engineering related field; or a master's degree in computer science, cloud computing, or related field and 3+ years of experience in a systems engineering related field. Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Meet DoD 8140 foundational requirements for a System Developer with proficiency of intermediate.
  • You have at least 1-2 years in technical support, business analyst, or project coordination role, ideally within a Linux or private cloud environment.
  • Foundational understanding of cloud computing concepts and IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Intermediate experience with RHEL/CentOS administration, networking, and system diagnostics.
  • Basic familiarity with Linux command-line tools and virtualization concepts are a strong asset.
  • Experience with data gathering, integration, and analysis of technical data
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Foundational cloud certification (e.g., AWS CCP, GCP Digital Leader) and willingness to pursue RHCSA immediately.
  • Ability to learn independently, adapt to an evolving environment, and stay current with industry trends.
  • Foundational grasp of enterprise networking, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Foundational proficiency with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and demonstrable experience with OpenShift Container Platform

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
