Summary of Position

The Vice President of Market Access will develop and drive the execution of the Curium market access strategy. The role will include a comprehensive assessment of unique payer dynamics specific to radiopharmaceutical reimbursement, the development of the Curium payer, market access strategy, marketing and pricing & contracting strategy for our current portfolio and our pipeline of new agents.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for all aspects of Market Access including the development and execution of market access strategies, field-based account management, patient access & reimbursement services, and pricing.
  • Lead initiatives providing insights into successful market access marketing, payer policy trends, government policy trends and other factors that may impact the ability to gain coverage or reimbursement for products.
  • Lead all Market Access strategy development in advance of the launch of multiple new products.
  • Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, KOLs, and vendors to develop product value propositions, evidence generation plans, messaging, and supporting economic analyses/models.
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Sales Operations and Commercial Analytics to strengthen data strategy and manage data contracts with channel partners to enable sales tracking, revenue recognition, government price reporting, and rebate adjudication and payment.
  • Apply expertise on market access-related matters as part of pipeline planning for early development programs.
  • Lead price listing with all appropriate compendia and agencies and submit for Transitional Pass-Through Reimbursement and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes for new products as required.
  • Partner with Commercial Analytics and Sales Operations to refine and manage the channel-based data flows necessary to understand the business, track key trends and performance metrics, and identify opportunities for continued improvement.
  • Support field-based account management team responsible for payers, GPOs, state governments and others to create competitive advantage for Curium.
  • Provide guidance to the Curium Leadership Team on emerging trends, market dynamics, federal and state policy and implications for our business and patients.
  • Provide co-stewardship of the Commercial function as a member of the Commercial Leadership Team to build and advance the Curium Commercial vision, talent development, capabilities and operations.
  • In time, hire, lead, motivate, develop, and retain a team of highly skilled market access professionals calling on Commercial payers, Radiology Benefits Managers, and Government accounts (including CMS and the MACs).
  • Ensure the Market Access team is working effectively with cross-functional commercial partners including Marketing, Sales, Operations and Analytics to ensure integration of relevant stakeholder needs, business priorities and market dynamics into comprehensive business planning activities.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between market access and non-commercial partners including accounting, legal, compliance and others.
  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred (e.g., MBA, MPH).
  • Eighteen or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries required.
  • Five or more years of experience in market access senior leadership roles required.
  • 10 or more years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in nuclear medicine and/or oncology is preferred.
  • Experience leading internal, remote and field based teams with a proven track record of successfully delivering results in a positive, collaborative and compliant way. Demonstrated ability to have the managerial courage to make and stand by difficult decisions.
  • Highly skilled in influencing cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams.
  • Ability to garner the trust and confidence of the organization from your direct team to the senior leadership team.
  • Exceptional communication skills: equally effective in front of field teams as you are in front of the senior leadership team and Board of Directors.

  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
