Position Summary Medical Sonographers operate specialized equipment that transmits high-frequency, ultrasound waves in order to produce images of the areas scanned. The Sonographer will perform standard ultrasound scans of patients and perform other basic duties related to the examination Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications
Note: A Bachelor's degree in a health care related field may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of experience. Preferred Qualifications 1. Demonstrated skill in performing a wide range of OB/GYN ultrasound examinations 2. Knowledge of health care facilities' electronic medical record systems. 3. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent patient care. 4. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology; knowledge of human psychology. 5. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files and records. 6. Knowledge of all patient safety procedures. 7. Demonstrate basic competencies in processing images and troubleshooting; performs minor trouble shooting operations. 8. Ability to operate and control equipment or systems. 9. Skill in conducting patient education regarding procedures. 10. Skill in proper documentation of results including preparing clear and concise reports, charts, and other written material. 11. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 12. Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving. 13. Ability to train students or residents.
