Adult Residential Support Professional

Location: Waukesha County, WI Schedule: Part-time, 1st shift (8am-4pm, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays)

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a dedicated Adult Residential Support Professional to join our team at Aspen Center, one of our residential treatment facilities in Waukesha County. Aspen Center provides affordable, comprehensive addiction treatment for men, empowering them with the skills and resources needed to achieve recovery and long-term sobriety.



About the Role

Under supervision, you will provide care, services, and support to clients in our Addictions and Restorative Justice (ARJ) programs. These programs serve individuals with substance use disorders and/or criminogenic risk factors, helping them build healthier, more sustainable lives.



Key Responsibilities


  • Support, interact with, and monitor residents while serving as a positive role model



  • Document resident behaviors and maintain required records and reports



  • Assist with housekeeping, cleaning, and distribution of clothing, bedding, and supplies



  • Monitor or administer medications in accordance with program policies



  • Share client status updates with external partners while maintaining confidentiality



  • Identify and respond appropriately to emergencies or crisis situations



  • Support residents in achieving treatment plan goals



  • Work independently and problem-solve effectively



  • Attend staff meetings and required training sessions



  • Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and teaching life skills



  • Transport residents to appointments, meetings, and activities



  • Collect urine specimens and administer breathalyzer tests as needed



  • Lead educational group activities within program guidelines



  • Provide basic first aid when necessary



  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Coursework or credits toward a bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related fields may be required depending on contract.



  • Experience: Previous experience in similar services preferred.



  • Skills: Strong reading, writing, math, and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to follow directions, maintain professional boundaries, and work as a patient, flexible, and collaborative team member.





Licenses & Certifications


  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required



  • Must pass a motor vehicle check (MVR) and meet LSS auto insurance requirements



  • DHS 83 training (Fire Safety, First Aid, Choking Procedures, Standard Precautions, Medication Administration) preferred; required after hire





Additional Requirements


  • Language Skills: Effective verbal and written communication



  • Technology: Basic computer skills to complete timecards, emails, HRIS, EHR, and online training



  • Physical Demands: Regular standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, stair use, and walking. Exposure to outdoor conditions during resident activities, snow removal, and yard care.



  • Work Environment: Community-based residential setting with moderate noise levels



  • Travel: Day trips up to 25-50%, depending on role
