Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Model-Based Systems) for support to the Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office (PMA-281) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) support for the Collaborative Mission Planning Continuum (CMPC) Integrated Product Team. CMPC is supporting the next generation of naval aircraft mission planning system. PMA-281 is responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of a range of mission planning, control systems and execution tools that are developed and integrated in partnership with other NAVAIR program offices, other Services, and foreign nation customers/partners. This position is primarily 2 - 3 days a week for on-site work with hybrid non-classified telework.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Hands-on MBSE capability, highly experienced building Cameo Systems models
  • Proficient and experienced with DoD system architectures.
  • Proactive MBSE engineer that performs tasks with little or no guidance and leads the execution of complex tasks.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
  • Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
  • Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • At least ten (10) years of experience performing work described in the labor category functional description, along with a Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MS) degree, or an allowable substitution; Must have a master's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university or a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience.
  • Within the required ten (10) years of experience, the individual must also have:
    • A minimum of four (4) years of recent and relevant Systems Engineering experience with Model-Based Engineering/Digital Engineering applications and technology.
    • Experience using MBSE tools such as Cameo System Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, and Cameo Collaborator.
  • Other key skills:
    • Typically performs high-visibility or mission-critical work independently and may oversee the efforts of junior staff.
    • Preferred familiarity with Agile processes and Jira.
    • Strong software background is highly desired
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Compensation Statement

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $128,300.00 - $141,700.00
