Summary: The Freedom Federal Credit Union Mortgage Specialist serves as a key resource for members seeking home financing solutions. This position guides members through the mortgage process from initial inquiry to loan closing, ensuring all interactions meet Freedom Federal Credit Union's standards for accuracy, compliance, and member service excellence. The Specialist provides expert advice on mortgage products, collaborates with internal and external partners, and ensures adherence to all regulatory and organizational requirements. The Mortgage Specialist complies with all federal, state, and credit union policies and procedures, including (but not limited to) the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and maintains confidentiality of member and organizational information at all times. Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations, and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports, and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating, and/or advising others on matters of significance.
