Description

Job Title: Seasonal Holiday Assistant

FLSA Status: Part Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Service Center Director

Schedule: 3-4 hours a day, 4 days a week.

Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $25.00

Closing Date: 11/24/2025

Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:



  • Sick leave benefit - 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)


Function

Work within a fast-paced and collaborative team, ability to multitask, apply strong attention to detail, communicate often and effectively. Help families apply to the holiday programs, whether it is electronically (phones or iPad) or physically on paper forms. Bilingual ability required.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assist our families in need to complete successfully holiday applications online.
  • Respond to any inquiries over the phone, email or in person and direct the call to the appropriate person.
  • With attention to detail ensure that all required data is filled out.
  • For clients without email addresses, find an effective way of communicating deadlines, times and dates.



Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications



  • Strong verbal and written bilingual skills.
  • Excellent communicator, with clear and transparent information reporting skills.
  • High-quality customer service in person, virtually, over the phone, and in written.
  • Proficient in Windows, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, and other platforms.
  • Able to multitask and handle issues as they arise; be a problem solver with the public, volunteers, donors, clients, in person, via email or over the phone- and during last-minute situations.
  • Desire to make a difference in our community


  • Driving

    • If the position requires driving:

      • A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver's license is required.
      • An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.


    • Background Check

      • Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.







Physical Requirements



  • Ability to maneuver.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate telephone.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Ability to access and produce information from the computer.
  • Ability to understand written information.
  • Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
