Starting Hourly Rate Based on Qualifications: $24.20JOB SUMMARY, DESCRIPTION & QUALIFICATIONS: Job Summary The Technical Assistant, Wood Science provides direct assistance and support in the Wood Technology Center of Excellence lab spaces at NTC's Antigo campus. This position will serve as an instructional resource in the provision of learning activities, including lab oversight, student assistance, and the preparation of instructional equipment and resources. Additionally, this position will monitor and maintain existing equipment, set-up and install new equipment, move equipment between lab spaces and support faculty in the set-up and use of equipment in NTC's WTCE, Saw Filing lab, and Sawmill facility. This position will also provide program support to the instructors were needed, including attending recruitment events, supporting K-12 partner visits, acting as a contact for NTC industry and educational partners, and supporting consistent marketing for the Wood Science program. Minimum Qualifications Required In limited circumstances, NTC may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position. Education: Associate's Degree (or Equivalent)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities In order to perform the functions and responsibilities of the position (listed above) the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, including language skills, reasoning and mathematical abilities are essential. Language Skills: Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, reports and emails; speak and may present information to groups. Math Skills: Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to critically think and solve problems involving a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization; interpret written, oral and diagrammed instructions. Technical Skills: Ability to perform complex operations in a variety of job-specific systems, understand functionality to apply advanced functions, manage/customize and create calculations with data. Customer Service Skills: Ability to actively listen, discern key information, and respond professionally; ask follow up or clarifying questions to diffuse escalated situations and offer appropriate problem resolution when necessary.
