Focus: The MTS Manager leads a team focused on maintaining and improving equipment reliability while reducing long-term costs. This role is responsible for managing and developing personnel, ensuring accountability, and optimizing productivity and resource use across fixed mechanical and rotating equipment, electrical, refrigeration, and rigging operations. As a key member of the Olin Freeport Maintenance Leadership Team, the MTS Manager helps drive site-wide performance and strategic goals.

The Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.

Maintenance Technical Services Manager Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee research and implementation of new technical technology such as NDE inspection equipment and methods, small instrumentation, etc.
  • Mentor and coach maintenance and operations personnel on MTS work processes; support development and audit the use of maintenance work procedures
  • Focal point for maintenance engagement and input on capital projects; provide technical support for maintenance and turnaround planning
  • Develop and monitor budgets for the Administrative and Do-Work accounts and provide input to reliability long-range plans.
  • Lead efforts to improve maintenance processes, team ownership, and operating discipline. Drive maintenance productivity initiatives to enhance quality, reduce costs, and optimize turnaround time
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCAs) as requested for both Maintenance and EH&S topics
  • Proactively lead the Continuous Performance Management Process for Maintenance direct reports; coach and mentor to maximize their personal and collective contributions to meet business and functional objectives
  • Develop and manage overall training and certification of the Instrument, Electrical and Analyzer resources in Freeport. Engage in and search for new technologies that will improve Instrument, Electrical and Analyzer reliability.

Maintenance Technical Services Manager Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Maintenance and Reliability
  • Background in mechanical reliability, including equipment inspection methods and equipment condition monitoring techniques strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of direct supervisory experience in daily maintenance activities, turnaround management, or operations
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement Maintenance Work Processes and operating systems in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
