Mustang Cat, a trusted Caterpillar dealer serving Southeast Texas for over 70 years, is hiring an experienced Credit & Collections Supervisor to support our Mustang Rental Services division. This role is critical in ensuring healthy cash flow, protecting lien rights, and fostering strong customer relationships while leading the daily operations of our MRS credit and collections team.

What You'll Do as a Credit and Collections Supervisor
Lead Credit & Collections Operations
- Supervise all credit and collections functions for MRS, including rental credit reviews and approvals.
- Monitor daily AR activity, past-due accounts, DSO performance, and dispute resolution.
- Ensure accurate, timely account reconciliations and proper documentation of credit decisions.
Coach & Develop Your Team
- Lead, support, and develop Accounts Receivable team members.
- Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and promote a positive team environment.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
Strengthen Compliance & Controls
- Oversee internal controls related to credit releases, sales tax exemption certificates, and lien rights.
- Assist with semi-annual internal audits, state unclaimed property requirements, and Comptroller audits.
- Facilitate monthly MRS lien review meetings and coordinate with Sales/Operations leaders.
Partner With Legal
- Coordinate accounts with the Legal Coordinator when internal collection efforts are exhausted.
- Prepare complete files for suit review, track progress, and meet with attorneys as required.
- Ensure annual bad-debt write-offs are completed in compliance with company policy.
Requirements
- 5+ years of collections, credit, or accounts receivable experience with responsibility for past-due portfolios.
- Experience supervising AR/Collections staff.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
- Knowledge of lien laws, notices, waivers, and rights related to rental/construction industries.
- High attention to detail, organizational discipline, and customer service mindset.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
- NACM certifications (or willingness to pursue).
- Experience in equipment rental, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial services.
