PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Markets and sells the Precision Farming services known as the Data Value System and provides supervision, leadership, and direction for related department personnel to achieve profitable business growth.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

Supervises, leads, and develops the assigned Crop Scouts. Supports the crop scouting program by providing leadership, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and actively maintaining performance management standards. May also provide leadership and training to the assigned Crop Specialists.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Markets, sells, and services the Data Value System and Climate FieldView to assist producers in achieving their crop production goals

Collaborates with local Crop Specialists to develop target lists in order to increase sales of fertilizer, chemical, seed, and the Data Value System

Complete sales and contact management reports on key accounts and targeted prospects for communications of information of all contracted Data Value System acres

Provides supervision, guidance, marketing and leadership for summer crop scouting program and Crop Scouts

Assist with profitable sales and service of assigned precision farming products and programs to key accounts and targeted prospects

Actively participate in MiField and N-Watch trials with targeted growers

Attain and maintain all technical and sales skills required for the position

Conducts presentations at agronomy marketing and customer meetings

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Assists Crop Specialists and Agronomy Area Managers with meetings, sales interviews, proposals and presentations of precision farming products and services

Collaborates with the Agronomy Department Manager to grow Precision Farming department

Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts

Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, GIS/GPS, or marketing related discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of precision technology, crop production management, and precision farming programs.

Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to travel independently and overnight.

Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the agronomy industry. (i.e. CCA, CSS, CPAg, Commercial Applicator w/applicable categories)

Occasionally exposed or required to:

  • Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
  • Noisy conditions
  • Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
  • May be required to work at varying heights
  • Lift 51 - 70 lbs.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
