SUMMARY: The Data Insights Analyst is responsible for developing meaningful analyses with actionable insights and quantifiable predictions across various business lines, with a strong emphasis on hands-on Tableau experience and advanced SQL proficiency. The analyst will visualize results in a business-friendly fashion to support strategic decision-making and will work in a fast-paced, agile team environment, handling both ad-hoc analyses and strategic projects. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their Tableau expertise and SQL skills during the selection process by discussing their experience, walking through dashboard design and optimization, and answering scenario-based questions about advanced Tableau features, SQL concepts, and business impact.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
- Build, maintain, and optimize interactive dashboards and reports in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud.
- Demonstrate expertise in Tableau features (calculated fields, data blending, Tableau Prep, dynamic parameters, Viz in Tooltip, dashboard interactivity).
- Publish and share dashboards via Tableau Cloud, manage permissions, and collaborate with business users.
- Perform client profiling, behavior analysis, and segmentation to support CRM strategy development.
- Develop data-driven models to evaluate and increase product profitability.
- Create benchmarks, robust reporting, interactive dashboards, and key metrics to optimize profitability, revenue, and sales growth.
- Leverage cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS) for data extraction, transformation, and visualization.
- Use business intelligence applications (Tableau, Quicksight, etc.) to develop and validate analytics.
- Implement modeling solutions for new client acquisition, cross-selling, and retention programs.
- Manage all steps of analysis: requirements gathering, methodology development, data pulling, processing, analysis, insight formulation, and results delivery.
- Collaborate with data science and engineering partners to meet business data needs.
- Prepare reports and exhibits; use storytelling skills to deliver clear, concise, and actionable insights.
- Run advanced analytics (e.g., logistic regression, decision trees).
- Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
- Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
- Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data analysis, ideally in financial services required
- Proven record of building Tableau dashboards-portfolio or examples required
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, including advanced concepts such as joins, window functions, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), stored procedures, views, and materialized views required
- Technical expertise in data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques required
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation required
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) required
- Experience working with AWS analytics services, such as Athena, Redshift, and Glue Data Catalog preferred
- Exposure to cloud-based data warehousing and ETL processes preferred
- Experience with data governance, privacy, or compliance frameworks preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud, with ability to articulate and demonstrate key features.
- Familiarity with CRM data (preferably Salesforce).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
- Ability to explain Tableau features and business impact to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with advanced statistical modeling and machine learning concepts.
- Understanding of banking products, customer segmentation, and financial KPIs.
