Other benefits include Health and Family Care leave for both union and non-union employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Systems Management: Work with a team of system administrators to plan, implement, manage and support enterprise IT systems, servers, backup and storage infrastructure across multiple data centers and cloud locations in a WAN environment.
- Software and Applications: Manage and update various software applications used across the organization, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, project management tools, CAD applications, and production software.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect Wells' sensitive data and IT infrastructure. Regularly monitor for potential security threats and promptly respond to any security incidents.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Establish and maintain a reliable data backup and disaster recovery strategy to safeguard critical business information and minimize downtime during unforeseen events.
- Asset Management, Budgeting, and Planning: Participate in asset management, budgeting, and planning activities throughout the year to ensure the efficient allocation of resources and the alignment of IT initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
- System Upgrades and Enhancements: Plan and execute upgrades and enhancements to IT systems, ensuring they align with business requirements and support Wells' continuous growth.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- IT Infrastructure Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing IT infrastructure, proposing and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency and productivity.
- User Support: Act as a valuable resource and backup to the desktop administrators, assisting in resolving complex IT-related issues escalated from the first-level support team. Provide expert technical assistance to end-users, ensuring timely problem resolution and minimal downtime. Collaborate with the desktop support team to identify recurring issues and participate in implementing permanent solutions.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is highly preferred
- 4+ years of relevant work experience with a BS/BA, or 6+ years of relevant work experience
- Industry certifications preferred
- Ability to take ownership of tasks, projects, and goals, proactively seeing them through to a successful completion
- Ability to accurately scope work, provide detailed status reports, and timely escalations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users
- Strong organizational skills, quick learner, and demonstrated problem solver
- Work well independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Windows Servers and Windows clients
- Proficiency in the management of Active Directory, group policies, file shares and related access permissions
- Proficiency in networking and routing protocols, firewalls, network security, and cybersecurity best practices
- Experience with the following a plus: Microsoft InTune, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and CRM, Microsoft SQL, UKG Pro and Dimensions, Cisco switches, Meraki firewalls and access points, Bluebeam Revu, and supporting/installing AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience configuring, managing, and supporting Microsoft O365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and other Microsoft services and systems
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and services (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Working knowledge of various scripting methods and automation: PowerShell, VBS, Python, etc.
- Experience with automated deployment of applications and patches
- Experience with Mobile Device Management systems to support iPads and/or other tablets

- Work outside of normal business hours: This position requires occasional emergency response and scheduled work outside of normal business hours. In the interest of response time, candidates living within a 40-minute drive time to the Albany plant will be given preferential consideration.
