Summary
The Systems Administrator II is a member of the IT Infrastructure team based in Chattanooga, TN. The successful candidate will provide server setup, installation, and maintenance as well as provide support to end users of file, print, and application servers. Candidate will also assist senior personnel with new server projects across the entire organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Setup and install servers, including hypervisors, stand-alone physical servers, and virtual machines
- Configure and support RAID controllers as well as direct-attached storage in a variety of RAID configurations
- Setup monitoring and appropriate alerting of critical hardware and services on all servers
- Active Directory and M365 administration such as group setup, automatic licensing assignment, etc.
- Ensure power requirements are met in local and remote datacenters
- Provide Tier 2 support for end users
- Support patching of systems during maintenance windows
- Monitor backup solution for failures, troubleshoot, and escalate if necessary
- Document server installs, new technical procedures, and user guides as necessary
- Assist Systems Engineers in the implementation of server and network projects
- Must be available nights and weekends as needed
- Other duties as assigned by a Manager or Supervisor

Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree in information technology or related field AND four years of related experience, OR six years of related experience
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022).
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other core Windows infrastructure services.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve system
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VLANs).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Travel
- Travel in this position is required. Expected travel is up to 25%. Travel up to a week at a time may be required, but shorter trips can be expected as well.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to effectively, and professionally, communicate through verbal and written means with employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
- Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Troubleshooting skill are imperative to this position. Facts cannot be established without proper troubleshooting.

Education
Associates of Information Technology (preferred)
Experience
